TacTracker
TacTracker is a PDA based sensor management application developed by TacGeo. It was orginally conceived for the US Army for use in monitoring a constellation of battlefield sensors and UAV feeds on the Inter-4 Tacticomp ruggedized PDA. The concept was field tested in an experiment which demonstrated its use with over twenty sensors and three Raven UAVs operating on an extended wireless network.
The commercial version is an ArcPad application which has been adapted to work with any IP based sensor, including security cameras, acoustic sensors and small UAVs. It provides the same graphic map interface on a PDA or PC for sensor management functions. With TacTracker, users can:
- Graphically add, delete, edit, reset or refresh sensor information including GPS position.
- Track multiple UAVs in real-time on a PDA or PC
- Query the status of any sensor or UAV and view the associated video feed
- Redline information on the map display that shared with all other users on the network.
- Chat with other users on the network via text messaging
